Drainage is one of those things nobody thinks about until there's a problem. And by the time there's a problem - water pooling against a foundation, soil shifting, moisture getting where it shouldn't - you're already looking at a much bigger headache than if it had been handled correctly from the start.
On this new build, we came in to handle the drain tile and backfill work around the foundation perimeter. The goal was simple: get water moving away from the structure the right way, and make sure the backfill was packed and placed properly to support long-term stability. It's not glamorous work, but it's some of the most important site work that happens on a new home.
Drain tile gets buried, gravel gets covered, and backfill disappears under finish grading. None of it is visible once the build is done. That's exactly why it has to be right the first time. Cutting corners here doesn't show up right away - it shows up years later, and usually at the worst possible time.
This is the kind of work that sits at the core of what we do. Excavation, rough grading, site prep - we take these steps seriously because every trade that comes behind us is counting on a solid foundation, literally. When the ground is set up right from the beginning, everything else goes smoother.
Getting the site work right from day one isn't just about checking a box on a build schedule. It's about setting up a home to last. That's what drives how we approach every job, no matter the size.
