A wooded property with a long driveway and sloped banks is one of those situations where drainage and erosion control really matter. Without the right groundwork, you end up with washed-out edges, soft spots in the gravel, and runoff making a mess every time it rains. That's exactly the kind of problem we set out to solve here.
We laid in a clean gravel driveway surface and addressed the slopes on both sides of the drive with heavy rip rap stone. The large angular rock locks into place and handles water flow without letting the soil underneath budge. It's not just functional - it holds up long-term in a way that seeding or mulch alone never could on a grade like this.
What you're looking at here isn't a quick patch job. The rip rap runs along the full length of the driveway bank, wrapping around the parking area where water had the most room to cause damage. We also incorporated a set of timber posts that frame the drive nicely and help define the edge between the gravel surface and the stone work.
The finished driveway itself is solid and wide - easy to navigate and clean all the way up to the house. Good gravel driveway maintenance isn't just about dumping stone and calling it done. Grade, drainage, and edge control all have to work together, or you're just buying yourself a short-term fix.
This is the kind of work that makes a property more functional and easier to manage year after year. Whether you're dealing with a rutted drive, eroding banks, or water pooling where it shouldn't - there's a real solution for it. We handle all of it.
